poverty? God didnt intend for it to go this way

Look, I’m going to be 100% real with you. We need to have a conversation that most people are too scared to have, especially in the "travel industry" where everything is usually sunshine, rainbows, and overpriced cocktails. But here at AHTRAVELSNYC, we do things differently. I’m Ayesha H, your Travel Agent, and I’m coming to you with that raw NYC energy because the state of the world right now is not it.

When I look around at the rising costs of literally everything, rent, eggs, gas, a subway ride, I can’t help but think: poverty? God didnt intend for it to go this way.

We were born to experience the beauty of this planet, to breathe fresh air in places we’ve never been, and to enjoy the fruits of our labor. We weren’t born to just pay bills and die. Yet, here we are in 2026, and the middle-income struggle is feeling more like a cage every single day.

The "Middle-Class" Illusion is Breaking

Let’s talk about the math, because the math in NYC (and everywhere else lately) just isn’t mathing. You work 40, 50, maybe 60 hours a week. You’re "middle class" on paper. You make a decent salary. But after the taxman takes his 30%, and your landlord takes another 50%, what are you actually left with?

You’re left with crumbs. You’re left with "survival."

God’s original design for this world was abundance. If you look at the foundations of creation, the earth was meant to provide for everyone. There was enough space, enough food, and enough beauty to go around. Poverty wasn't the plan; it’s a man-made construct fueled by greed, insane housing markets, and a system that rewards the top while squeezing, wait, I won't use that word, while crushing the people in the middle.

We are living in a world of artificial scarcity. We are told there isn't enough, while billionaires race to space. It’s a joke, and if you’re feeling frustrated, you’re not crazy. You’re paying attention.

Housing, Taxes, and the Great Disconnect

In New York City, we see the extremes every day. You’ve got luxury glass towers sitting half-empty as "investments" for people who don't even live here, while hardworking families are being priced out of neighborhoods they’ve called home for generations.

  • Rent is a Ransom: It’s not just "housing" anymore; it’s a ransom note you pay every month just to keep a roof over your head.
  • The Tax Trap: You’re working harder, but your paycheck stays the same while the cost of living skyrockets. You’re being taxed on your income, taxed when you spend it, and taxed just for existing.
  • The Struggle is Real: This isn't just about "poor" or "rich." This is about the people in the middle, the ones who do everything "right" but still feel like they’re one emergency away from the edge.

God didn't intend for us to spend 90% of our lives stressed about how to afford a decent place to live. The earth is huge. There is so much land, so much beauty, and so much resources. The fact that we have a "housing crisis" in a world this big is proof that the system is broken, not the people.

Why You Need to Reclaim Your Peace

This is exactly why I’m so passionate about what I do at AHTRAVELSNYC. When the world is trying to keep you stuck in a loop of work-sleep-pay bills-repeat, taking a vacation isn't a "luxury", it’s an act of rebellion. It’s you reclaiming your time. It’s you saying, "I am more than a taxpayer. I am a human being meant to see the world."

If the system is going to take your money anyway, you might as well spend some of it on yourself before it’s gone. You deserve to see the sunsets in Greece, to eat authentic jerk chicken in Jamaica, and to feel the sand between your toes without a care in the world.

Turn Up Your Life: Why Now?

I hear people say, "I’ll travel when things settle down." Newsflash: They aren't settling down. The prices are going up, the taxes aren't going away, and the world isn't getting any cheaper. If you wait for the "perfect" financial moment, you’ll be waiting forever.

At AHTRAVELSNYC, I help you find the ways to make it happen now. Whether it’s finding exclusive deals through my Advanced Travel Search or putting together a personalized itinerary that fits your actual budget, my goal is to get you out of the rat race, even if it’s just for a week.

Reclaiming the Narrative

We have to stop accepting "the struggle" as our permanent identity. Yes, the economy is a mess. Yes, the housing market is a nightmare. But you still have a life to live. You still have a soul that needs nourishment.

God intended for you to have joy. He intended for you to experience the vastness of His creation. When you step onto a plane and leave the NYC grit behind for a moment, you gain perspective. You realize that the "world" is much bigger than your rent check. You realize that there is a whole different way of living out there.

Explore our Blog to see where others are going to find their peace. It’s time to stop letting the system dictate your happiness.

God didn't intend for it to go this way. People are carrying more than they were ever supposed to carry, and the struggle has been normalized for way too long.
